Here’s what’s on…
For experienced dancers -10-11.15am -Fun and challenging ballet exercises and floor barre designed to help dancers maintain stamina and technique over the summer holidays. Suitable for dancers of any age who have a good knowledge of ballet steps at an intermediate level and above.
For ballet beginners -11.15am -12 -New 45 minute taster classes for adults wanting to give ballet a try or return to it after a long break. Great for improving muscle strength and tone, fitness and posture. Steps are introduced slowly in a friendly and supportive environment. It’s not all tutus and twinkle toes though -these classes are designed to make you sweat! So if you want some exercise, come along.
How much are the classes? Classes for beginners are £5 each if you pay in cash on the day but you can save 10% if you pay online, in advance and you can book as many as you like in one go. With discount, prices are: One class: £4.50; Two classes: £9; Three classes: £13.50; All four classes: £18
Classes for experienced dancers are £8 each if you pay in cash on the day but you can save 10% if you pay online, in advance and you can book as many as you like in one go. With discount, prices are: One class: £7.20; Two classes: £14.40; Three classes: £21.60; All four classes: £28.80
If you would like to pay by bank transfer, mobile or Paypal, these details can be sent to you. Class fees are not refundable or transferable if you are unable to make it on the day, and ‘advance’ means payment must be received no later than midnight on the day before the class.

What do I wear? Whatever is comfortable and allows you to move about easily. You can turn up in leggings and a top or in full sugar plum fairy attire with tutu and tiara if you like! Just a couple of things to note…
- The more form fitting your clothes, the more the teacher can see if you have the correct posture for the exercises and offer help if needed
- It’s a good idea to tie your hair up or pin it back from your face
- Make sure you have clothing that covers your ankles and knees -the class may include floor barre and these areas need to be protected so you don’t get friction burns from the floor. Bring some socks or leg warmers for this section if you need to
There are changing rooms and shower facilities at the studio.
What shoes do I wear? Your feet need to be able to move easily along the floor so ballet shoes are preferred but if you don’t have these, then socks will be fine -just be aware you may need to remove them and dance barefoot for faster exercises in the centre of the room so that you don’t slip. Experienced dancers can wear demi-pointe or pointe shoes if they want to and so long as they are confident they can dance safely in them. There is no set pointe work section in the class.
Floor barre work is done in socks or bare feet.
Do I need to bring anything? You should bring water to stay hydrated. Yoga mats are available for the floor barre work but if you have your own, please bring that.
Is there anything else I need to know? If you have any injuries or medical conditions that effect you exercising, you must let the teacher know. That way exercises can be adapted safely for you.
Data Protection – You pass on your name and contact details when you sign up for classes. Under new General Data Protection Regulations, you give consent for this information to be collected and used only for the purpose of providing you with class information and payment details (if required). Once the summer classes have finished, contact details will be deleted. All information is kept confidential and is not shared.
